Deborah Dunphy, PhD - Psychologist

Deb Dunphy is a licensed psychologist who has been at Shifa Health for over 2 ½ years. She received her B.A. in Psychology at Kent State University in Ohio in 1985 and her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1995. She completed her APA approved internship at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. Deb has 16 years of experience working in university based student counseling centers where she specialized in Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD) in college students and adults. Since relocating to the Pacific Northwest about 5 years ago, Deb has primarily been in private practice as well as working two academic years at the Counseling Center at Western Washington University. She has continued to work with older adolescents and adults with ADHD (high school, college age and adults) as well as a range of other issues including depression, anxiety, grief, chronic pain, communication and relationship problems and spiritual concerns. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Northwest Behavioral Health Independent Provider Association. In her leisure time, Deb likes to garden, make baskets, read, cook and bake, enjoy the antics of her three cats, and explore the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
